More: For more ...The BRRI, in a fund-raising effort, had its First Annual BRRI Bird-a-Thon. In Corozal, the Corozal Eagles Birders participated in this event. The BRRI has a conservation science and education program with the mission to help protect neotropical raptors throughout the Americas using the sound science approach. Raptors are birds of prey such as hawks, eagles, falcons and owls.
This event was a 24 hour nation-wide birding activity in which groups from all districts took part to observe as many of Belize's 580 species of birds as possible, and to spot the rarest and most beautiful ones.
