Vendors can arrive as early as 7:00 am for setup. Call 607-8200 for information.

Report: BRRI Birdathon 25 March

Sat 30 Apr 2011—BRRI Bird-a-Thon Report

The BRRI, in a fund-raising effort, had its First Annual BRRI Bird-a-Thon. In Corozal, the Corozal Eagles Birders participated in this event. The BRRI has a conservation science and education program with the mission to help protect neotropical raptors throughout the Americas using the sound science approach. Raptors are birds of prey such as hawks, eagles, falcons and owls.

This event was a 24 hour nation-wide birding activity in which groups from all districts took part to observe as many of Belize's 580 species of birds as possible, and to spot the rarest and most beautiful ones.

CCC Marching Band Places Second

Mon 18 Apr 2011—CCC Marching Band Places Second at Bandfest 2011

On Saturday, 16 Aril, 2011, marching bands from all over Belize competed in Orange Walk to claim the title of the top band.

The marching band from Corozal Community College placed second. The Succotz Marching Band was first. Holy Redeemer won first place for drum corps.

Location: Central Park

Time: 8:00 - 9:30 PM

Bring a candle!

The Corozal Town Council along with the WWF presents Earth Hour 2011. This is a world wide event, the Council is joining with the WWF to get the town of Corozal involved in this global event. Come out Saturday night, there will be a short program and participation in the lighting of candles while the people of the town are encouraged to turn out their lights from 8:30 until 9:30 p.m.

East Indian Festival

Mon 14 Mar 2011—COEICH East Indian Fest

COEICH will have its second annual East Indian Fest on Sunday, 27 March, 2011, at and around the Round House at Miami Beach in Corozal. Festivities start at 9:00am. There will be food for sale such as tacari, dahl, roti and others. There will be cultural presentations, children's games, and many display booths. The Gilharry 7 will be playing live.

The theme this year is "Entrusting Our Cultural Legacy to Our Descendants."
