Mission
The mission of the Institute for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ITVET), is to equip Belizeans with skills, knowledge, work ethic and credentials that will enable them to be gainfully employed. The primary area of focus includes:
- High School Graduates
- Primary school leavers
- Customized Training
- Skilled tradespersons seeking skills upgrade
Goals
Upon completion of an individualized program of instruction, Trainees will be empowered to:
- Enter the job market with employability skills
- Attain advancement in their current employment situation
- Offer an improved quality of service and /or product
- Engage in an entrepreneurial venture
Philosophy
ITVET exists expressly for the purpose of offering technical vocational skills training, geared towards training a workforce capable of producing goods and services which are competitive in the global economy.
ITVET believes that education is a basic human right, which must be guaranteed to all Belizeans to the highest level of each person's ability and must include those who may not have finished primary or secondary school. Each Trainee is treated as an individual with unique aspirations, needs and abilities.
